It was reported that less people showed up for the 2013 Inauguration of President Obama this year than did four years ago.  It’s possible that media, and more specifically social media could have contributed to this turn out.  Instagram made it possible for people to share their up-close and personal inaugural experiences with friends and family near and far;  CNN even suggested that Instagrammers trend #CNN along with their pictures from the event.  What CNN thought was the most interesting thing Instagram brought to the table during the inauguration was solid proof of how truly diverse and somewhat bizarre the crowd that gathered truly was.
